A housing boom is underway in San Pedro with roughly 5,000 housing starts. Additionally, there was a 87% increase in home values in 2021.

Arts

The San Pedro Waterfront Arts District is an inaugural California Cultural District. From Art Walks to the world-renown Angels Gate Cultural Center, the arts scene is bustling in town.

Tourism

When West Harbor opens in 2024, it will draw a tourist population with its destination entertainment. Coupled with the return of the Cruise Industry and Battleship USS IOWA, the LA Waterfront will be a must-visit location for LA visitors.

Commerce

The Port of Los Angeles the nation’s #1 container port and the global model for security, sustainability, and social responsibility.

Blue Tech

AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles is a 35-acre campus bringing people together to incubate and sustain ocean-related business; pioneer new ocean-related education programs that accelerate scientific collaboration, facilitate job creation.

Investment

The Port of Los Angeles has invested roughly $1 Billion in infrastructure on the LA Waterfront. That investment, coupled with private development ushering in a new era for San Pedro.

Waterside

From Bridge to Breakwater, the LA Waterfront is an active, diverse public amenity. A public promenade, Cabrillo Beach, marina, and courtesy docks offer something to everyone on land and sea.

History

San Pedro has a rich cultural history, from the historic fishing fleet, the tuna canneries, to military presence and into a modernized Port. Our town celebrates the diverse immigrant populations that came to San Pedro to fish, innovate, and build.
